Ethiopian tradition, culture and religion have continuously repressed the rights of women to realize their full potential. The perception that women are weak, inferior and subordinate to men has resulted in several forms of violence; Abduction and rape, Female Genital Mutilation, early marriage and domestic violence. In each of these cases, the woman is denied her right to live her life to the fullest, to realize her inner potential, to make her own choices and contribute to the progress of her society.
Zema Setoch Lefitih Maheber is committed to the empowering of women through the implementation of programs such as Gender and Advocacy, non-formal education, health and sanitation, business development services including the facilitation of saving and credit service.

Gender equity : We believe that gender equity must be reflected in all areas of our work.
